Charleston Southern's Saah Nimley has been chosen as the StatSheet Big South Player of the Week for the week ending January 28th. Will Weeks from North Carolina-Asheville has won StatSheet's Big South Freshman of the Week.

Nimley was the Big South leader in scoring (24.5 pts per game), rebounding (9.5 per game), and three pointers (5.5 per game). He also tallied a solid output in assists (4 per game). The Charleston Southern sophomore played well for the Buccaneers in wins against Presbyterian and Liberty.

Nimley led all scoring and rebounding for the Buccaneers with 26 points and 9 rebounds in a big 79-59 win over Presbyterian. He then led all scoring and rebounding with a 23 point and 10 rebound performance in a narrow 79-75 victory against Liberty.

This is the first StatSheet Big South Player of the Week award for Saah Nimley. However, he has been a runner-up more than once. The runner-up this week is senior Khalid Mutakabbir from Presbyterian. Honorable mention goes to Charleston Southern senior Jeremy Sexton. Kevin Hartley, who finished 12th, was the highest ranking player from Gardner-Webb.

StatSheet Big South Freshman of the Week: North Carolina-Asheville's Will Weeks

Will Weeks averaged 37 minutes of playing time as a starter for North Carolina-Asheville. He led all Big South freshmen in scoring (16.5 pts per game), rebounding (7.0 per game), and free throws (6.5 per game). In a late 63-60 win over Coastal Carolina, Weeks registered 50% shooting and 3 steals. In a 69-58 win over High Point, he led scoring with 21 points and rebounding with 8.

Amazingly, Will Weeks has won the StatSheet Big South Freshman of the Week 3 times. John Brown from High Point grabs runner-up. Lorenzo Cugini from High Point takes honorable mention. Gardner-Webb has won the StatSheet Big South Player of the Week award once this season.
